Full Time Reopening Information (updated 4/12/2021)

Dear Sequoia Parents,

We are excited to welcome back students to school full time..  With the improving COVID case numbers, improving Orange County COVID tier level and the CDC’s changed guidelines to have student desks at a minimum of 3 feet apart, we can now accommodate all of our students on campus.  We will also continue to offer a virtual option.

We will have a phased in transition for students returning to campus.

  • Next week, April 5 - 12, 2021 is spring break and there is no school.
  • The week of April 13 - 16, 2021, we will continue with our current learning schedules.
  • Schedule changes will begin on Monday, April 19, 2021.  Please see the chart below with the exact times for student attendance.

Our schedule that starts May 3rd, will be our schedule through the end of the year.  Mondays will remain our modified days with primary students out at 12:15 PM and upper grade students out at 12:20 PM. Updated virtual schedules will be shared after spring break..

To help with the transition, we will hold a parent information meeting on Thursday, April 15th from 4 PM - 5 PM.

We will continue with our health and safety protocols.  Students and staff will continue to wear face masks and be screened upon entry to school.  Students and staff who are sick or have symptoms will need to stay home. Frequent hand washing/sanitizing will be in place.  At lunch, students will maintain 6 feet of distance and will eat in stable groups.  Cleaning and disinfecting protocols will still be in place.  Desk shields are still in place.. Visitors and parents will not be allowed on campus at this time.

Thank you, parents and families, for your continued flexibility and support.  We are excited to have our students on campus.  Please contact the school office at 714-894-7271 with any questions..  You can also email me at aderr@wsdk8.us.

Thank you,

Mrs. Derr
