Principal's Message

Sequoia Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year! For families new to our campus, we extend a warm and friendly welcome. And, to our returning families, thank you again, for entrusting us with your child's education.

As the official GATE/Magnet STEA3M school for WSD, we will work every day to inspire each student to achieve his/her greatest potential. Our commitment in teaching and having your child engaged and learning is paramount. We ask that parents help us with this commitment, of working "bell to bell", by scheduling your child's appointments before or after school, if at all possible. This will limit classroom disruption and ensures your child, as well as others, benefit from a full day of learning.

Communication is an important key to success! Parents will continue to be informed of their child's achievement through parent/teacher conferences, progress reports, and report cards. At any time during the school year parents may request information regarding their child's progress. We ask that parents, in turn, keep us updated with changes to emergency contact information or any other pertinent information through the WSD Parent Portal system.

To assist in keeping parents informed with the many school activities and events scheduled, a school calendar will be sent home monthly in addition to being available online and on Facebook and Instagram. Please visit and follow us on:

Our commitment to student safety requires volunteers/visitors to always check in through the school office. Additionally, please be extremely cautious when using the drop-off zone. Please do not exit your vehicle unless you are parked in a designated space.

We encourage parents to become involved. Volunteer opportunities include PTA, School Site Council, and helping both inside/outside the classroom. Please contact the school office if you are interested in volunteering.

Warm regards,

Michelle Watkins, Principal
