The Value of PTA Membership: PTA connects families and schools. By joining PTA you show your children that school matters, and that you are invested in their success. Three decades of research proves that students achieve higher grades, have better attendance and more consistently complete homework when parents are involved – and just the act of joining PTA is a great way to get involved. PTA helps ensure that parents have a seat at the table when important decisions that affect schools are made. PTA works together to improve the education, health and safety of all children. Become a member of the nation's largest and most powerful children's advocacy association in the country.

Sequoia's PTA: Sequoia parents play a major role in fostering the sense of family and community that makes Sequoia Academy a place where children want to come and learn everyday. On a daily basis, parents support learning by volunteering to work with small groups, assisting with instructional materials, and preparing projects.  PTA provides funds for STEAM, Art Masters, field trips, Ribbon Week, assemblies such as Walk Through California, Walk Through the American Revolution, Meet the Musicians, and much more.  In addition, they sponsor events such as family nights, trunk or treat, Veteran's Day Breakfast, science night, reading night, lunch on the lawn, movie night, carnival, reading reward day, family dance, game night, bingo night, book fair, spirit sales, and yearbook.  It is this commitment to community involvement that has led Sequoia alumni to remain or intentionally move back into the neighborhood so they can send their own children to a school that nurtures a family environment.
